Most Fridays (check the Course Calendar), you should put your weekly reflections in your Weekly Reflection folder before midnight. For each reflection, you’ll be answering two questions (it’s up to you to decide what order you’d like to answer them in).
How did college go this week?
Any stress or excitement (good or bad)?
Was there anything you were looking forward to (or not!)?
How was the food?
How are your other classes going?
How’s the roommate situation?
How did this class go this week?
What was your favorite activity or discussion?
Did you make any connections with other classes you’re currently taking?
Do you have any lingering questions or need something explained better?
Does this build upon other ideas we’ve covered before in class?
You can write a response, record a video, record a voice memo, or draw a comic to answer these questions (let me know if you want to reflect another way and we can figure out how to make it happen!).
If you’re….
….writing a response, you should aim for about a page to a page-and-a-half of double-spaced writing
….recording a video or voice memo, you should aim for about 2.5 minutes of reflection time. (If there are multiple students reflecting together, each student should aim for 2.5ish minutes of talk time. So if there are three of you reflecting together, the total video or memo time should be about 7.5 minutes and everyone should have a somewhat equal amount of talk time).
…drawing a comic, you should aim for 2 - 3 squares per question.
These reflections will help you later as you create your midterm - the more reflecting you do now, the more threads you can pull on later to begin to see emerging trends.

Class went well this week
FINE EXAMPLES:
College this week was mediocre. Luckily, there wasn’t a lot of stress this week, but I was mostly just tired all week and didn’t get as much sleep as I wanted to. One thing I enjoyed this week was the major and minor fair on Monday. I’ve been unsure of my major since I picked it last year, so it was nice to be able to explore a lot of other majors I might be interested in. Another thing I enjoyed this week was doing yoga again on Tuesday. The food this week was worse than usual. On a couple occasions, I was getting dinner with my friends in the dining hall but there wasn’t a single good option. The pasta was ice cold, the burgers had nothing left for toppings, the lettuce I like for salads was turning brown, there were barely any options left for pizza, and the rotating dinner station is always something unrecognizable. The only good thing about the food this week was the fact that it was so bad I felt justified in getting myself Taco Bell. My other classes this week were not bad. I had my first math exam and I feel very confident about it. I also didn’t get a weekend project for art which I was excited about, but the classwork I have to finish over the weekend is hard anyways.

Class was good this week . I always like when we start a new topic and I really enjoy the topic of film . Because I stayed inside and was able to pick a personal favorite film, I liked being able to share my interests to my friends. It reminded me that I should rewatch the movie and humbled me as I wasn't aware of how much work goes into a production. It was also interesting when the communications major students came in to talk about what they do on a daily basis & Southern and how they wish to pursue their passions. Although I'm not personally interested in this department, it's good to hear about why people like the things they do and their constant efforts to fulfill a passionate career.
